Top Ten Tuesday (6) My Christmas Wishlist

I haven't done one of these in a couple weeks. I had to take last week off- I was ten kinds of busy with the end of the term. University sucks sometimes! TTT is hosted over at The Broke and Bookish.

But I am pretty excited about this week... I get to share my wishlist.

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing Me

1) The Perks of Being a Wallflower By Stephen Chbosky - I read this book earlier this year and I loved it. I, however, do not own this. I need it though. I have a special spot saved for it on my bookshelf.

2) The Taker by Alma Katsu- Another book I have read but do not own. I loved the book and I would like to own the trade paperback. I think the cover is beautiful and I must own this novel.

3) Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood- I enjoyed this novel and I am obsessed with the cover. It's so pretty. Although I would like to own this book. I wouldn't be devastated if Santa didn't bring it to me.

4) Rapture by JR Ward- This is book four in her Fallen Angels series. I haven't read book three yet, but I own them all and I really dislike not having a complete series. However, I believe this one was released in hardback, and I have no problems waiting for the paperback.

5) Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo- I loved this book when I read it back in the Summer. I loved the Russian feel to it. I loved the main character and I loved the writing. It was perfect. Such a good story, and I would love to have it on my shelf.

6) My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick- My favourite contemporary novel ever. Well this year at least.  This novel I would love for Santa to deliver to me. As soon and I was done reading it, I wanted to start over. I love books like that.

7) Days of Blood and Starlight by Lani Taylor- I don't generally buy books that I haven't read before. It's sort of my rule. I dislike wasting money on something that I am unsure I will love. But I was thrilled with Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I am VERY eager for the sequel. So excited.

8) The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling- I know I want to read this book, and I will be the first to admit that I want to own it on principle alone. Jo wrote it, and I want to support any and everything she writes. My concern with owning this though is that I would never get around to reading it.

9) Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy- I would love to read this book, and with the movie just out now I am even more curious about it. I want to own it, but Santa I am very specific on the cover I want.

10) The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta- Love, love, love this book!!! I NEED to own. But I am a little picky with this one. I want the Australian cover. I am not a huge fan of the North American Cover. I think it's ugly.

So there you have it. My Christmas wishlist. Books I have read and books I haven't. I love looking at these so please leave links to yours below so I can take a look.

~Happy Reading Everyone!

  1. I did finally get to Anna Karenina when I first heard that the movie was coming out. It is a chunkster of a read, but I did enjoy it, despite the fact that the characters could be infuriating at times. I hope that Santa leaves you something that is on your list.

  3. I would love a copy of Anna Karenina, but I'd also need to be gifted the time to read it too! I wouldn't mind a copy of The Casual Vacancy either, purely because it's written by J.K! Great list, and thanks for stopping by!

  8. I'm a proud owner of the Aussie cover of The Piper's son and I agree, the US covers just don't cut it!

Try fishpond, or slip the link for it to someone who might be willing to foot the bill :D

I love the rest of your list too! Good luck getting them. :D

  11. I completely agree about My Life Next Door. I started re-reading it right after I finished. Perks is so good too, and I own it but loan it out frequently and I'm not sure if I'm ever getting it back! Maybe I need another one, lol.
The Piper's Son sounds incredible. Thanks for the rec!
Hope you get all the books on your list :)

  12. Wow! Great books! I would have included so many of those on my list. But making a top ten of a wishlist of thousands is kind of cruel, don't you think? ha-ha!
I got Casual Vacancy a few days ago, but I haven't been able to read it yet. And I've heard so much about The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I need to read that one too.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT
I though I was following you, because I recognized your blog... Well, anyways, now I am.

  14. How are you likeing season 2 of the Vampire Diares? I watched last weeks episode and I have to tell you, it was literally my favorite episode ever. I love the cover of the Taker too! If you liked my life next door so much I'll have to get it because its on my wish list too, I just hate spending mone. I've had the Casual Vacancy for over a week and its just sat there because I'm so nervous I won't like it. Thanks for commenting on my blog! I'm a new follower :)

  15. Oh! I should add My Life Next Door to my list too because it looks so stinking cute. I actually went out Christmas shopping today and might have snagged a copy of Days of Blood and Starlight. Just maybe. I hope you see some of those books under your tree!

  17. I loved The Casual Vacancy! Well worth the read, even though it is a rather hefty book.

  18. Fantastic list! I don't often buy books that I haven't read unless the book is part of a series I enjoy or by an author I like.

I love the new cover for The Taker and its sequel. I want to read My Life Next Door. I've heard so many good things about it.

  19. We seem to have quite a few wishlist books in common! I must own The Perks of Being a Wallflower and I must own it with its original cover - no movie tie-ins. I assume the Born Wicked cover you're talking about is the original cover. Did you see the redesigned cover? I don't know what publishers are thinking sometimes. The old one was so much more unique and interesting.

  20. Great choices!! I haven't heard of a few of these books, so I'm off to Goodreads to read a synopsis about them =)

  21. I want Days of Blood and Starlight, though I admit to a certain amount of trepidation. I'm worried that book two will be even more heartwrenching than Daughter. I might cry!

  22. Ahhhh I especially hope you get Days of Blood & Starlight! I just finished & reviewed it on the blog, I LOVED it ♥!! Shadow & Bone & Casual Vacancy also made my TTT this week - here's hoping we both get luck come the Holidays :) Also wanting to read Perks of Being a Wallflower! I hope you get all of these under the tree.
